Common Morse Abbreviations and Prosigns

On-air Morse uses abbreviations to save time. CQ means calling any station. DE means "from" (this is...). QTH is your location. QSL confirms receipt.

Prosigns are sent without gaps between characters. AR marks end of message. SK ends a contact. K invites a reply. BK inserts a break in transmission.

Our abbreviations reference lists prosigns, ham shorthand, and Q codes with meanings. Study these alongside alphabet practice for realistic on-air copy.
